Apple launches new watch and iPhone XS
Apple has launched three new products today – but it appears that shoppers in Exeter city centre don’t seem to care much.
Staff at the Princesshay Shopping Centre branch put barriers up outside the shop in anticipation for the launch.
The barriers were there because the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max went on sale for these prices today as well as the Apple Watch Series 4.
But although Apple recently beat Amazon to win the race to become the world’s first company to be worth a trillion dollars, there seemed to be little obvious interest in its shiny new additions to its phone and watch ranges.
Security were also on hand at the store in anticipation of heavy crowds.
As for the barriers, though, it seemed as if they weren’t going to be needed because as you can see from the pictures – there were more staff stood outside than customers.
Perhaps not even for people who might have wanted to be the first to have a look at the new products.
It’s a sure sign of the times that Apple itself has helped to create.
Most of its sales in such circumstances are now being made through the world of online ordering that its products have helped to fuel.
So gone are the day of long, chaotic queues with people arriving in the early hours and hoping the supply of new products would not run out.
