New Bad News – Canadian GP Postponed

F1 Canadian GP becomes the ninth official F1 World Championship race to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organizers of the Canadian Grand Prix did everything in their power to bring F1 back to the fans. However, it was always going to be impossible because of the ongoing pandemic. The news of race postponement is not too surprising. Meanwhile, F1 teams are helping out the communities to take the world back to its normal state.

Mercedes team, in particular, has been outstanding in the last month alone. During this time, they have been manufacturing breathing devices for the ill. They have gone one step further to assist by turning their F1 engine facility at Brixworth into a production factory of breathing devices. More help is still required to defeat the coronavirus. With companies like Mercedes taking the initiative to contribute to the much-needed assistance, we might soon be seeing the pandemic shrinking in its existence.

Postponing the event was not an easy decision for the organizers who made it very clear they wanted to be the first to bring back the F1 action. They could take respite in the fact that they are doing it to protect the people from the virus. F1 itself is having discussions with organizers to build a new 2020 schedule so that the season can be concluded successfully. In addition to staying at home, fans may also choose to follow the Virtual GP series which is featuring all the canceled or postponed races. Last Sunday, Leclerc took away the virtual win at Albert Park. As dismal as the current state of the world is, it is still pleasing to hear the words Leclerc and win in the same sentence.
